Caroline Kennedy Schlossberg, as a NYC Department of Education executive, teamed up with AOL to bring the Dave Matthews Band to Central Park for a concert that was expected to raise $2 million for NYC public schools.

'The Dave Matthews Band in Central Park: The AOL Concert for Schools,' was a special night of music in New York's famed Central Park, featuring the nation's most popular touring band. But more importantly, it raised money for public schools.

Through this event and a massive fundraising effort, AOL has committed a donation of at least $1 million to the Fund for Public Schools, a nonprofit organization affiliated with the New York City Department of Education which is dedicated to improving public education for NYC's 1.1 million public school students. The money will be used to support music education and arts-related programs in schools throughout the five boroughs of New York City.

This concert builds on AOL's long-standing commitment to meeting the needs of kids and families to be educated, informed and entertained. These range from features such as Parental Controls and Homework Help to community initiatives such as AOL@School and AMBER Alerts.
